'Phonography' is THE TREAT's second album and the one that first brought the band to national prominence, gaining rave reviews and support in various national music magazines.

The album raised the group's profile and commercial standing, their artistic ambitions and musical accomplishment.

A consistently strong seller for the band, the album contains two of their most popular tracks, in 'Meadowland' and 'Bolivian Diary'. Rarely have THE TREAT rocked harder than on 'Fanfare For The King' and 'Make You Crawl'. This album also set the template for their regular panoramic sweeps across genres, taking in Blues, Hard Rock, Psychedelia, Prog and Folk. This album also contains the first time the band incorporated unusual instrumentation into their sonic palette, featuring double bass, clarinet and flute on some tracks, in addition to their already established powerhouse guitars, bass, drums and vocals set up.

The album is regarded by many fans and admirers as a very good 'entry level introduction' into THE TREAT's world.
